Maleic Anhydride is a white crystalline solid or molten liquid with a pungent odor, widely used as an important intermediate in the production of unsaturated polyester resins, alkyd resins, additives, surfactants, and agricultural chemicals. It is also used in the manufacture of fumaric acid, malic acid, lubricating oil additives, plasticizers, and copolymers.
